Pete & Kelli Wedding - Part 1

We enjoyed our stay at my college roommate's house for a day or so and then headed to the hotel so we could be closer to the wedding festivities. Alex enjoyed going to the pool, but he would not get in. Adam, on the other hand, willingly got wet! It was his first pool experience. He wasn't excited, but not scared either. We also enjoyed just hanging in the room and playing with some toys and watching TV. Natalie shared the room with us got to share a bed with Alex. He did pretty good and only kicked her off the bed a couple times. :)

Here's a few pictures of the boys.

We went and visited one of my roommates from college. She and her family live in Peoria. Alex had fun playing with their daughter, Rylee. Rylee is the same age as Alex.
Here, Alex is mowing. He looooved the mower. Guess I'll have to keep an eye out for one at a garage sale!

Dustin's wedding

Andy's good friend, Dustin, got married this weekend. Andy and Alex were in it! It was a very busy weekend, but Alex did great. The flower girl and Alex got along great and they couldn't have been cuter! When it was wedding time, I stayed in the back with Adam (and in case Alex didnt' go down the isle) and Andy's mom sat toward the front to help coax Alex down the isle. When it was their turn, the flower girl asked if it was time to 'walk, stop, and pose'! I said yes, and Alex went running down the isle, pillow held up above his head. He ran strait to Grandma who pointed to Andy up front. Andy had some candy so Alex went up to get it and then came back to sit with Grandma during the ceramony. When it was done, the flower came over and they both walked back out together----which was NOT done in practice!
Needless to say, we are very proud of Alex! Unfortunetly I dont have many pictures (since I was busy with my boys), but here's a few.

Dad and Phil got out the little electric race car track. After a little sanding and warming up, it was ready to go. Alex thought it was great! We had to tape up the controllers so Alex wouldn't full throttle the cars off the track!
If you go to Dad's blog, you can see a short video of it. :)

Painting at Grandma's

Beginnings of spring

Here's a few shots from the past couple weeks.

Adam sits up well enough to play with Alex in the bath tub. Adam likes to splash and watch Alex play. Sometimes they will both start splashing and before I know it, I'm soaked and all that can be heard is fits of giggles!

If the tractor's out, Alex is quick to "help"!

Another one of Alex favorite things to do is water. We've had a dry spring so far, so I've been having to water my flowers. He does a pretty good job, I just have to watch that he doesn't wash all the dirt away from the roots!

Poor Puddy

We decided to get Puddy groomed this week. And well, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I saw him. I've been having to cut out chunks of matted fur and burrs the last year or so, and so I thought it might be worth a try to get him groomed to see if it would help this summer. Not to mention help with the shedding and keeping him cool this summer.

We weren't quite prepared for the outcome.

This is the BEFORE picture...

These are the AFTER pictures.
His hair is about the length of a boxer's, if that helps.

Like I said.....Laugh or Cry? I've done both.

5 hours, 3 baths (with the groomer in the tub too), 25+ ticks, one broken grooming table later... and this is the dog we brought home. It's certainly taking some getting used to. I was under the impression he was going to be shaven, but have at least an inch or two of hair still. After talking with the groomers, that was the plan, however after they kept finding ticks, they decided to buzz him a little closer. On the bright side, I did decline them doing a "Lion's tail" on him. What's that? You guessed it....shave the tail except leave a tuft of fur at the tip. Hahaha.....I had a hard time keeping a straight face when they told me what it was. Do people really get that done? I surely hope not!

Anyway, I don't think we will be doing this again. At the very most, a TRIM maybe next spring. But I don't think the groomers are in a hurry to see Puddy again any time soon. :)

Easter 2010

Like usual, Easter was across the road at Andy's grandma's house. Alex always loves getting to play with the other little cousins. Adam didnt' mind the extra attention either. :)

These first few photos are around the pond. We had a nice sunny, windy day to go outside and stretch after a good meal. After the egg hunt, the kids hung around the pond to watch the fish.
