At home...

Well the first few days Alex was a very helpful big brother! He even cleaned out his crib of all his blankets and stuffed animals to make room for Adam. However, about a week after Adam being home, Alex has been....difficult. Needless to say, he's not quite as fond of his new family member as he first was. :) Adam is doing great and is a happy baby.

Adam - a little over a week old
Uncle Phil gave Alex a tool box with some tools in it and has been "fixing" everything!
He also got a tool bench with some power tools (drill and saw). He takes his tools eveywhere and fixes everything! Thankfully it's a good distraction while I take care of Adam. :)

Indy Zoo

We made a trip to the Indy Zoo in early August.

This summer has flown by! Alex has been helping us pick veggies from the garden as well as help us can the beans! We made a trip up to the Elkhart county fair and got to see all sorts of animals and some of his cousins.

Around the house

These first few photos are for those of you who have never seen the house! We have 5 acres outside of Lafayette, IN and we love our yard! Alex spends most of his time outside running all over the back yard helping me do yard work or chasing the cats and dog. This is a picture of the back of the house from the shed.
The front of the house....

I'm sitting on the back steps taking these next few pictures.

The pine trees in the back are ours.
There's a sand volleyball court in the back left corner.

Yesterday, I found Alex in his bedroom playing with some stuffed animals. He had them each laying on their own cloth diaper and was feeding them with a plate and spoon he stole from the dishwasher when I was unloading it. Later, I found him reading books to them in the rocking chair. Alex taking care of the babies.....oh, I think he'll make a good big brother!

July 4th camping trip

So for the holiday weekend we took Alex camping for the first time! He loved all the activity of the campground (which was full), but had a very hard time going to sleep because of it. It rained on us all day Saturday, but it made for some good time to chit chat and play cards with family. We went camping with Andy's cousin Neil and his family, as well as Pete, Nat, and Kelli (Pete's girlfriend). We had a good time despite the rain and on Sunday we had the beautiful sunny weather we had expected all weekend. So the few pictures below are from Sunday at the reservoir beach. The first picture is of Cameron, Neil and Crista's son who just turned one the beginning of June.

When Alex saw the waves (made by the boats on the lake), he got very excited and ran to them. We were spoiled in California with the white, soft sandy beaches....this beach was made of small pebbles! But this water was warm :)

Summer Video

Andy's mom took these videos today. I know I just made a bunch of posts, but I couldn't help but add these to the blog. I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
