Asilomar

For 4 days we have a family reunion at Asilomar. Asilomar is a state park/conference ground. We get a room that is cleaned everyday, a big room to hang out in, and meals provided. This is all compliments of Grandpa and Grandma, so we thank them very much for the fun time we get to enjoy! We do almost the same things every day......eat...play in sand....pool....beach....eat....play in big room....nap.....beach....eat....big room....sleep. Meal times this year where a bit interesting. The kids almost out-numbered the adults. Most of the young guys couldn't come this year. In fact, Bo (Carroll's husband) was the only guy of our generation! But there were LOTS of boys. So they made for some pretty good entertainment. :) We were blessed with a couple sunny days, but it was pretty windy. But that didn't stop us from going to the beach. Adam wasn't too keen on his first beach outing. It was sunny, but cool and very windy. The load roar of the ocean was a bit overwhelming too. So he wasn't there long. However, he did enjoy it more each time we went. He loves water, so once he figured out that the big blue stuff was moving water, he wouldn't take his eyes off of it! Alex on the other hand was very focused on the sand. He never even gave the ocean the time of day! He was all about digging a hole. And that's what he did every time we went to the beach.

Due to Andy's short notice absence, my cousin Amy stayed with us in our room to help me with the kids. Nana and Papa were in the room right next to us, but having Amy around was a huge help! In fact, almost better than Andy! It was like having two moms. She was usually a step ahead of the boys and could see a need before it was going to happen. They boys warmed up to her immediately, so that was never an issue. Alex was always asking, "where's Amy? where Amy go?" In fact, he still is asking about Amy! :)

(don't worry, they're her boys, so I think she can take 'em!)

I like this one of Tyler.

Downtime in our room.
The other sand we get to play in is the volleyball court.
It's very handy that it's right outside our rooms!

Amy didn't' spend all her time with my boys.
She's a very sought out playmate by all!

Walking back from dinner.
